Most of my life in the last 35 years was spent working. When I wasn’t working, I thought about the work I had to do to eventually stop working. I traded life force for money and put that money in the bank. Yes, I tried to keep a balance but just like all Americans who work for a living I prioritized work and lived around that. I saw it as my ticket to freedom. I suppose I could’ve married a rich guy but then what are the chances I’d actually like to sleep with him and deal with him? Maybe, I should’ve believed in fairytales and left a slipper somewhere not on a hiking trail. Look at Melania. She did pretty good for an Eastern European non genius with a boob job. I tell myself that it wouldn’t be freedom if I were tied down to a possible asshat.
I am not saying that I am the smartest opportunist out there. If I were, I’d be sitting on a huge fortune already. But I am smart enough to sit on a tiny fortune which allows me to take a bit of chance and see what else I can do with “this one wild and precious life,” and see how it feels to start trading money for life. You know, exercising my inalienable right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,”
