First – great news from Substack, the platform hosting Life Intelligence. They will comp you a you a 1-month subscription to Life Intelligence!!!! Substack-funded gifts are complimentary 1-month gift subscriptions redeemable in the app and are fully paid for by Substack.

How does it work?

From October 31, Substack will offer eligible free subscribers a 1-month gift subscription. Eligible free subscribers will be notified of the limited-time offer via a targeted email sent from Substack. DON’T MISS THAT EMAIL when it comes.

Clicking the “Claim gift” button in the campaign email opens a new browser window, directing users to the app store so they can install the Substack app and claim their gift subscription.

The membership will NOT automatically renew. It’s just a sample month to you. Towards the end of the month, Subsatck will send you another email asking you if you want to continue the subscription.

This is an awesome perk for you and for me because Substack is awesome! Give it a try!

Onto the topic of the day.

Sarcasm is only funny spoken by a standup comedian. So, unless you're standing behind a mic and in front of an audience, your wit may cost you more than you want to pay. I just did a video on 5 Behaviors You Should Never Tolerate, and contempt was one of them. That's because it is most corosive to any relationship but especially, so to an intimate partnership.

Research done by the Gottman Institute over several decades clearly demonstrates that contempt is the strongest and most accurate predictor of a relationship ending. Meaning, couples who use contempt when they fight almost always end up splitting up.

Sarcasm is learned and, therefore, could easily be curbed. You can simply choose not to respond to someone sarcastically and instead say something meaningful and useful. Contempt, though, it comes from deep within. It expresses outwardly an inner feeling of superiority.
