Hi guys. Remember how I used to have sections in Life Intelligence? Then they disappeared? That’s because I felt like each piece was getting too long for people to read. Instead, I am making the section (Food for Thought and Mixed Salad) a separate, once-a-month or so thing.
Yes, once Life Intelligence becomes by paid subscription, some of these will be available for free, and others will be sent to paid subscribers only. Since I am still figuring these things out, everything is still FREE! 😊But if you want to tip me, Donate here – any amount you wish!
If this is your first time here, stay connected and keep up with the changes – subscribe!
Here you go.
Blood Test For Anxiety Developed – that’s a good thing. But, I wonder what people who fake it will do about this.
The test examines biomarkers that can help them objectively determine someone’s risk for developing anxiety, the severity of their current anxiety and which therapies would likely treat their anxiety the best.
A person’s biomarkers can also change over time. Niculescu said the test can help evaluate a person’s risk of developing higher levels of anxiety in the future as well as how other factors might impact their anxiety, like hormonal changes.
The Mediterranean diet helps prevent dementia, they say. “A diet rich in vegetables, nuts, whole grains and fish reduced the likelihood of developing dementia by nearly one-quarter, even among people with higher genetic risk.
Get the latest research and your refresher on what is The Mediterranean diet in this article from March 13, 2023.
Don’t fear an AI-induced jobs apocalypse just yet – This piece in The Economist says the West actually needs more automation. Remember when I wrote Conversation with the future? This was one of the concerns.
The immediate problem for advanced economies is, then, not too much automation but too little. It is exacerbated by the fact that, for large businesses, automating tends to be difficult to get right in practice. And it is likely to prove no easier with the latest buzzy AIs.
The $25bn that, according to consultants at BCG, the world spent on industrial robots in 2020 was less than 1% of global capital expenditure (excluding the energy and mining sectors). People spent more on sex toys.
Hmmm… good to know. But maybe sex robots will displace humans in the bedroom faster than at work. Just thinking aloud.
How To Get Through To Your Partner – from Psychology Today. Helpful ideas anyone in a relationship can use. And what to do with someone who’s being a “naïve stoic.”
Researchers commonly classify support within a relationship into three categories: emotional support (concern, empathy, love, or encouragement); tangible support (help with tasks like cooking or managing finances); and informational support (sharing news, facts, or advice). Unfortunately, couples often run into a mismatch between the support one partner seeks and the type the other offers in response. “
And completely unrelated to anything but super cool… Sea slugs and photosynthesis???? Yep! Plus, so much awesome sea life! 12 min is all you need.
That’s it for now. If you run into something awesome, send it my way. I like fun, educational, and helpful stuff. I’ll share it with everyone else.
Thanks for reading.
