Next week, in Part 2 of this 3-part series on narcissistic abuse, I will discuss children growing up with narcissistic parents. Don’t miss this!

Everyone’s ex is a narcissist these days, and people constantly blame their problems as adults on supposedly narcissistic parents. While it is true that in the age of selfies and “me first” attitude, we all seem to be acquiring more narcissistic qualities, those who have actually lived with very highly narcissistic parents or partners roll their eyes at the rest of us, saying, “Hold my beer.”

Narcissistic abuse is pernicious, sneaky, and incredibly destabilizing and disorienting, and because of it, extremely hard to detect and extricate yourself from. By definition, it makes you question your own perception of reality and erodes your self-reliance and confidence, so how are you ever going to know that what you are experiencing is the machinations of a narcissistic person?
