A couple of days ago, essential services worldwide, including banking, airlines, and hospitals, faded into the blue when CrowdStrike and Windows failed to communicate. Stuck at airports, hospital lounges, and long retail queues, people looked at each other in the eyes, counted cold cash, and commiserated in person.

We need technology like we need air. But before it became the organizing principle of our existence, we were better at being humans.
