I met some friends as an adult by taking some leaps passed my comfort zone. I actually did find folks on Meetup and through a supper club that was active before covid. It’s scary and uncomfortable but if you don’t get out there, don’t engage or support, then you can’t maintain these friends. I have to give this a second read. Lots of good stuff in this post.
Excellent article. On reflection into my own life, I find that I've prioritized work over relations and when work didn't go well, I'd put even more time and attention to that. My work/life/play balance has been out of proportion for so long that working all the time feels normal.
I have regrets about now about my earlier choices and simply need to come to a full stop and decide whats important, healthy and stimulating. I don't want to die alone with regrets.
Ha. Let me know if there's a party, I won't say no!

“Your friends are not cleenex” … love this. Wow! How do you tell a friend they make you feel like Kleenex?
Great read!!!
Thank you.
You tell them you can't keep listening. Inform them of your boundaries. Or just tell them "Why do I feel like you use me like a Kleenex?" LOL.

Thank you for making it clear.
Oh boy. I hope you don't die alone with regrets. It sounds awful. At least get a dog :) Happy friends making.
Awareness is step 1, isn't it? So I'm stepping in a positive direction :)
