I was raised by a strong woman, who could have had any man she wanted. She chose my father, a hard-working man of fine character. They weren't uber-wealthy, though Mom has made a killing as a widow, carefully investing what Dad left her. She is now well past the "widow dating scene", and even if a man her age came along, what need would she have of him? I am pretty much in the same boat, but as a man who has a boatload of good friends and no real need of another mate (wife died eleven years ago). Happiness does not depend on externals, as you are no doubt well aware.
